The Diva's weekly challenge is to create a tile using two squares as the string. I find comfort in using squares and triangles and basic shapes for my string, so I loved this challenge.

May Creations and Experimentation
This is an assortment of traditional tiles and ZIA's I created during the month of May. When I was in Maine with my sister, mother and brother, my talented artist sister gave us a quick tutorial on monoprinting. When I returned to California I acquired a Gel Plate to continue the print learning process. I was also inspired by some tiles that Laura Harms, CZT did using a black gesso string.

Diva Weekly Challenge #311 - Circle Square String Theory
I was so excited to see this weekly challenge! I enjoy tangling in "frames" so it was fun to use the two shapes in this way. I did one traditional Tangle on a 4"x 6ish" thick card stock and one colored pencil ZIMA (Zentangle Inspired Mail Art) on a postcard for my sister in England. The tooth on the postcard was a bit too "toothy" for my taste, but I tried to make the best of it. Not quite right, but it was fun to use my newly organized Prismacolor pencils.

Diva Weekly Challenge #306 - Amphora
Amphora by Lily Moon is the Diva weekly challenge. I did it in my sketch book because I didn't think I was going to like it, but I am very pleased with the outcome. I have been having fun exploring the shading techniques in Eni Oken's 3D Tangle: Shading Fearlessly. The two photographs are the same tile just photographed in different lights. Neither of them are quite right. The top one looks yellow and the bottom looks washed out. Any suggestions?

Square One: Purely Zentangle Weekly ONE - Yew Dee and Por Fin
This tile combines the last two weekly ONE's, Yew Dee and Por Fin. I struggled to make a tile I was happy with using Yew Dee, but after reading Eni Oken's ebook on shading, (which can be found here: https://enioken.com/) I like the 3D quality that can be created with this pattern. You will also see a little Diva Dance and Daggerly sneaking in from the bottom corners.
